Description:

The Stimson Center is a non-profit, non-partisan institution devoted to enhancing international peace and security. This position supports the organization and its various programs by developing static and Flash-based information graphics, multimedia presentations, programmatic blogs and web support, interactive products and tools, and the basic formatting of publications. This position will also film events held and the Center, edit video, and post to the web.
 

Duties:

Design, layout, and format various types of print materials including books, reports, brochures, and signage.

Create Flash-based interactive and static graphics, multimedia projects, and interactive pieces for the institution and its programs.

Advance video production capacity including filming, editing, rendering, and posting to the web.

Familiarity with a wide variety of production formats and delivery vehicles, including hardcopy and electronic publications.

Manage and grow Stimson’s brand.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, or related field.

Essential Skills: Expertise with Flash CS4 a must. Demonstrated expertise with: Adobe InDesign CS4/CS5.5, Photoshop CS4, Illustrator CS4, Dreamweaver CS4 and code (HTML, CSS, XML, ActionScript, PHP). Samples of original work will be requested and evaluated for technical ability.

Desirable Skills: Proficiency with Adobe AfterEffects CS5.5, Premier CS5.5, video rendering, audio editing, and AV equipment.

Interest in international relations, or peace and security issues is desirable.
